Οι  The 700 Machines δημιουργήθηκαν το 1999, συνδυάζοντας ένα εκρηκτικό ηχητικό μείγμα με δόσεις από rock n’ roll, 60’s garage punk, ψυχεδέλεια, αλλά και 70’s hard rock. Ένα χρόνο αργότερα ηχογράφησαν το πρώτο τους demo, το οποίο περιείχε 3 τραγούδια και ξεκίνησαν μία σειρά από εμφανίσεις σε πολλές γωνιές της Αθήνας, προκειμένου να ακουστεί η μουσική τους. Μία από τις σημαντικότερες εμπειρίες εκείνης της χρονιάς ήταν η εμφάνισή τους με τους θρυλικούς Dead Moon.

To 2001, θα ξαναβρεθούν στο studio, ηχογραφώντας άλλα 7 κομμάτια με τη βοήθεια, αυτήν τη φορά, του Jim Spliff (The Last Drive, The Earthbound, Rockin Bones, Nightstalker).

Οι live εμφανίσεις τους συνεχίστηκαν ασταμάτητα. Οι The 700 Machines άνοιξαν πολλές συναυλίες για ξένες και εγχώριες μπάντες, όπως Deus X. Machina, Misfits, Hawkwind, The Godfathers, Backyard Babies, Nashville Pussy, The Nomads. Κορυφαία στιγμή τους ίσως είναι η εμφάνισή τους ως opening act στη συναυλία που έδωσαν τα 3 εναπομείναντα μέλη των  ΜC5 τον Μάρτιο του 2006. Την ίδια χρονιά ηχογράφησαν άλλα 2 κομμάτια, ενώ συνέχισαν τις live εμφανίσεις. Το 2007 άνοιξαν τη συναυλία της επανένωσης των The Last Drive.

Μετά από αλλαγές στη σύνθεσή τους και έχοντας στο πλευρό τους τον Jim Spliff, ξεκίνησαν τον Οκτώβριο του 2009 τις ηχογραφήσεις για το πρώτο τους album με guest τον Alex K. Αυτή τη φορά, οι The 700 Machines χρησιμοποίησαν αναλογικά μηχανήματα αποδίδοντας στη μουσική τους το ζεστό ήχο των 60’s και 70s που τόσο αγαπούν. Το ομώνυμο album κυκλοφόρησε από την Studio II Records.

Στα πλαίσια της προώθησης του νέου τους album έδωσαν αρκετές συναυλίες. Σημαντικότερες από αυτές ήταν με τους Pierced Arrows και τους Siena Root.

The 700 Machines were formed in 1999. Their sound is an explosive Rock 'N' Roll cocktail combining revolutionary 60's Garage Punk, psychedelic and 70's Hard Rock.
In 2000, they recorded their first demo and played many live shows all around Athens to spread their music. The climax of the year was their being the opening act for the legendary Dead Moon.

2001 finds them in the studio for their second demo "Turn On... The 700 Machines" produced by Jim Spliff (Nightstalker, The Earthbound, Rockin Bones). Their live performances continued dynamically. They performed as a supporting act for bands like Deus X. Machina, Misfits, Hawkwind, The Godfathers, Backyard Babies, Nashville Pussy, the Nomads, John Spencer Blues Explosion etc. They consider as a highlight their opening for the 3 remaining members of MC5 in March 2006 and the reunion of The Last Drive in 2007.

In 2009, they recorded their fist full length album featuring Alex K. as a guest. Once more in company with Jim Spliff, they used analog equipment recreating the mellow sound of the 60's and 70's. "The 700 Machines" was released by Studio II. Many gigs followed to promote the album, the most important being those with the Pierced Arrows and Siena Root.
